About

About Me

Ayodele Ogundipe

I am a Supply Chain Business Analyst and Commercial Operations Professional with experience across supply chain management, business development, distributor operations, process optimisation, and business transformation.

My professional background combines commercial management, supply chain operations, logistics, business analysis, and data analytics. Over five years in commercial and operational roles, I have gained hands-on experience across redistribution, bulk-breaking activities, distributor networks, consumption analysis, and reverse logistics.

This has given me a practical understanding of how commercial activities interact with supply chain operations, and how effective coordination across distribution channels directly improves product availability, operational efficiency, and sustainable business performance.

I approach every challenge through structured analysis, stakeholder engagement, commercial awareness, data-informed decision-making, and continuous improvement. I am particularly focused on understanding the root causes of operational challenges, identifying improvement opportunities, and translating data into practical actions that deliver measurable results.

Alongside my professional work, I plan to share thoughts and articles on career development, professional growth, and building a rewarding career in supply chain, business analysis, and data analytics. This website serves as my professional portfolio and a place to document my professional journey and insights as they develop.

My Approach

How I work — three clear stages.

  1. Structured Analysis

Establish what is actually happening before proposing change. Trace operational symptoms back to their root causes, not just treat surface issues.

  2. Data-Informed Strategy

Translate business information into clear, actionable intelligence. Test ideas against commercial reality and the teams who will deliver results.

  3. Continuous Improvement

Embed measures that sustain performance after engagement ends, so improvements hold rather than decay.

Experience

Where the practice comes from.

Five years across redistribution, distributor networks and reverse logistics — the commercial side and the operational side of the same problem.

  1. Business Development Representative

    2017 — 2022

International Breweries Plc (Anheuser-Busch InBev) · Nigeria

Managed redistribution and bulk-breaking activities across multi-partner distributor networks. Coordinated commercial activity with supply chain operations to protect product availability and fulfilment targets. Analysed demand and consumption patterns to inform channel strategy, inventory positioning, and business decisions. Designed and monitored reverse logistics processes within the distribution cycle to reduce waste and recover value. Engaged with internal teams and external stakeholders to align operational capabilities with commercial objectives. Used data tools and enterprise systems to track performance, identify gaps, and drive continuous improvement. Role equivalent to Territory Manager, with full responsibility for distribution channels, territory coverage, and commercial performance.

    Key achievements

    • Selected as one of a core five-person team to design and launch the Bulk-Breaker scheme, identifying, recruiting and developing emerging sub-distributors and channel partners ahead of competition.
    • Recruited an average of five new sub-distributors every quarter, providing ongoing operational and commercial support to help them build profitable businesses, compete fairly and drive market share growth.
    • Managed redistribution networks and led go-to-market strategies across assigned territories, coordinating trade marketing activities to strengthen brand preference and position ABInBev brands as the first choice on retailers' shelves.
    • Grew territory distribution coverage by 28% and consistently met and exceeded annual sales and availability targets.
    • Improved product availability across assigned territory from 82% to 96% by aligning supply chain operations with commercial activity.
    • Reduced slow-moving stock and product returns through improved demand analysis and reverse logistics monitoring, cutting waste by 19%.
    • Built and maintained strong relationships with over 45 active distributors and channel partners, improving order fulfilment speed and reliability.
    • Analysed consumption patterns and seasonal demand to recommend optimal stock positioning, helping reduce stockouts by 24%.
    • Streamlined redistribution and bulk-breaking processes across distributor networks, cutting average lead time to retail by 3 days.
    • Identified and resolved operational bottlenecks in the supply chain, contributing to an estimated 12% reduction in operational costs within the territory.
    • Produced regular performance and demand reports using data tools, enabling informed channel strategy and business decisions.
